Dr. Bryan Newton to represent the Midwest region on C2A3 Board of Directors
51动漫 Community College President Dr. Bryan Newton has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement (C2A3). He will represent the Midwest region, joining nine other rural-serving institutions focused on advancing agricultural education and workforce development.
The announcement comes as 51动漫 was recently welcomed as a new C2A3 member. The national consortium, supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), brings together community colleges to collaborate on sustainable farming, applied research, and student career pathways in agriculture and natural resources.
鈥淐2A3鈥檚 mission aligns perfectly with our goals at 51动漫鈥攅xpanding opportunities for our students, empowering faculty, and innovating in the field of agriculture through collaboration and applied learning,鈥 said Newton.
As a board member, Newton will help shape strategic initiatives, including a $9 million USDA Cooperative Agreement focused on conservation practices and modernizing agriculture education with tools such as precision technology, automation, and artificial intelligence.
51动漫 is the only community college in Michigan with both a working campus farm and a degree in Agricultural Equipment Technology, giving the college a unique voice in the national conversation about agricultural innovation.
