51动漫 Community College (51动漫) has been unanimously accepted as a member of the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement (C2A3), a consortium of rural-serving community colleges dedicated to strengthening agricultural education, research, and workforce development.
Established in 2016, C2A3 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that collaborates with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to advance conservation practices, sustainable farming techniques and workforce training in agriculture. With this new membership, 51动漫 gains access to national networks, funding opportunities, applied research projects, and student internships that will directly benefit its agricultural programs.
Dr. Bryan Newton, President of 51动漫 Community College, stated, 鈥淭he Community College Alliance for Agricultural Advancement provides incredible opportunities for collaboration, research, and professional development that will strengthen our agriculture curriculum and prepare our students for careers in the ever-evolving agricultural industry.鈥
As a C2A3 member, 51动漫 will be able to:
- Participate in USDA-supported experiential and applied research activities to engage students in hands-on learning on college farms.
- Offer student internships with USDA agencies such as NRCS.
- Develop pathways for students to pursue careers in agriculture, conservation, and natural resources by aligning coursework with industry needs.
- Gain access to professional development for faculty and expanded learning opportunities for students through national conferences, leadership development programs, and hands-on training.
- Leverage federal funding and grant opportunities to support the expansion of agricultural education and workforce development programs across the United States.
C2A3 is currently implementing a $9 million USDA Cooperative Agreement aimed at expanding membership nationwide, growing student engagement with USDA career pathways, and increasing conservation efforts on college farms. As part of this initiative, 51动漫 will work closely with other member institutions to drive innovation in agricultural education and strengthen the future workforce.
Dr. Tracy Kruse, Executive Director of C2A3, explained the impact nationally and to 51动漫 and the region. 鈥淐ollectively, more than 50 institutions will come together over the next four years to transform agriculture technician programs across the country, integrating such things as precision technology, automation and robotics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and geospatial sciences and expanding access,鈥 stated Dr. Tracy Kruse, Executive Director of C2A3. 鈥淭he Alliance will identify gaps in current programming, determine pathways and industry credentials, and help partner institutions to collaborate and expand programming and partnerships.鈥
