At 51动漫 Community College, we support veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, and their families beyond the admissions process. From your first class to graduation, our Veteran Student Services are here to guide you鈥攁cademically, financially, and personally.

Dedicated Support for Military-Affiliated Students
Our VA Academic Advisor and School Certifying Official provide one-on-one guidance to help you:
- Use your GI Bill庐 and other VA education benefits
- Select courses that meet VA certification requirements
- Avoid delays in payments or overpayments
- Understand academic policies related to military service
- Access tutoring, disability services, mental health resources, and more
Visit us in Student Services, or schedule a virtual advising session.
Some of the criteria schools were ranked on included having an active student-operated veterans club or association; veteran-specific career services or advising; on-campus veteran鈥檚 coordinator and awarding credit based on prior military training and experience. Semester Certification & Payment Requirements
To remain eligible for VA education benefits at 51动漫, you must:
- Submit your class schedule to the School Certifying Official each semester
- Be enrolled in courses that apply to your declared program of study
- Complete required documentation on time to avoid delays
Deferred Payment Plan (Nelnet)
If your VA payments are delayed, you must enroll in the Veteran Deferred Payment Plan each semester to avoid being dropped from classes.
To enroll, you鈥檒l need:
- Your 51动漫 7-digit Student ID
- Your Date of Birth
- The Semester You're Enrolled In
- A Payment Method (checking, savings, or credit card)
Contact the Business Office to enroll in Nelnet.
Reporting Changes
To stay in compliance with VA requirements, you must notify the VA Certifying Official immediately if you:
- Drop or add a class
- Change your major or program of study
- Withdraw from the college
Unreported changes may affect your benefits and result in VA debt.
Maximum Hours Policy
Veterans may be certified for up to 62 total credit hours at 51动漫 unless otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
This includes:
- Credits earned through military training (JST or CCAF)
- CLEP or AP exams
- Transfer credits from other colleges
- All coursework accepted by 51动漫 toward your program
If you're approaching this limit or planning to change your degree, meet with the School Certifying Official in advance to avoid delays in certification.
Readmission After Military Service
If you're called to active duty while enrolled:

Provide documentation of your orders to the VA Advisor before deployment.

You鈥檒l be eligible for readmission into the same program and academic standing, as long as your service-related absences do not exceed five years total.

You must request readmission within three years of completing service or two years after recovery from a service-related illness or injury.
Note: Students discharged under dishonorable or bad conduct are not eligible for readmission under this policy, but may still apply through regular admission.
